Eight thousand years ago wine was already being produced in Georgia, and they used a special technique of fermentation that is used in about five percent of the wines produced in Georgia today.
Two thoughts crossed my mind when I came across the National Geographic article about Georgian wine considered the oldest wine:
- A total surprise as I naturally thought the birth of wine was Mesopotamia
- Is there a real difference in the quality of this wine that follows this ancient technological procedure?
I have no answer to this question and would love to hear from wine drinkers and wine professionals what is their answer! So, wake up, guys, PLEASE TELL ME!
Here is a video about that technique
